Kurshonbrooke Lodge is an exclusive Horse Riding Academy for children and Equestrian Centre based on the south-side of Brisbane in the suburb of Gumdale. Our Staff have a combined experience of over 100 years in the horse industry. Kurshonbrooke Lodge gives children as young as 6 months the opportunity to not only learn to ride but also learn how to take care of these majestic animals in a family-friendly environment.
We are proud to be one of the very first Pony Club Australia Accredited Riding Centres in Queensland.
Shonel Balsillie is the owner/director and Equestrian Coach at Kurshonbrooke Lodge. She has competed in many disciplines of riding at various levels – Queensland Interschool, Queensland Pony Club and Equestrian Australia at both State and National levels.
Shonel holds the following qualifications:
• Equestrian Australia NCAS Level 1 Equestrian Coach (General – Dressage, Showjumping and Eventing)
• Bachelor of Education (Primary). Current registered Teacher with Queensland College of Teachers.
